LEAD ARCHITECT
Ian Johntson stands as a beacon of dedication and achievement in the architectural realm. After receiving his education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, he completed a rigorous 5-year Professional Program, proudly earning his Bachelor of Architecture in 1990. His commitment to excellence saw him joining the AIA as an Associate Member from 1991 to 1995, and later as a full member from 1996 onwards. In Wilmington AIANC, Ian's leadership prowess became evident: he navigated roles as the IDP Coordinator from 1992-1995 CE Director in 2002, took on responsibilities as the President Elect in 2003, and ultimately led as the President in 2004. Beyond the confines of his professional accolades, Ian finds solace in his role as a loving husband and father. His free time paints a picture of a man deeply passionate about woodworking, sketching, and painting, each hobby a testament to his boundless creativity.
